Valda F. (Parrish) Scott In Glory

Valda F. (Parrish) Scott, 87, passed into her Savior’s arms on Dec.10, 2008. A celebration of her life was held at North Point Community Church in Alpharetta, GA. A family graveside service took place the following Saturday at Oaklawn Cemetery in Winter Haven, FL.

Born in Bartow, Florida, Feb. 4, 1921, her life was lived in dedication to the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ…that He died for our sins and that by simple faith in His death, burial and resurrection, each person can KNOW they have eternal life. (John 3:16, I John 5:13).

The last 25 years of her career were spent as Dean of Women and then Comptroller of Florida Bible College. Her faithfulness to and trust in the Lord were lived out in her quiet service to others.
She was thankful for the loving man the Lord sent her late in life. She was married to Spencer Scott in 1997 and they spent several years traveling together around the world.

Preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Barbee and her daughter-in-law, Mindy Parrish, she is survived by her husband Spencer C. Scott, Roswell, GA; a son, John Parrish, Milton GA; a brother, Olis Ryals and sister Alice Button, Central FL; four grandchildren, Joy Wurdemann, Greenleaf, ID; Kevin Parrish, Manama, Bahrain; Rick Haley, Austin, TX; Shana Parrish, Nashville, TN; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to New Tribes Mission, 1000 East First Street, Sanford FL 32771 and designated for Moi Tribe Video Project.
